When the Marino family surged into the Boston neighborhood in the fall of 2005, the criminal activity surge was more than the local police department could handle. It was bad enough with the Connelly family before, but with two mob families competing over the territory, it was too much to continue to look the other way. Lead by one Abbott Renshaw, director in charge of the situation, the FBI began moving into the area. Working closely with the Boston Police Department would prove hard to keep their presence unknown by both the Connelly and Marino families. Years of officers being paid off by the Irish had taken its toll on weakening the integrity of the department for decades.
The goal of the FBI agents who moved in for the specific task of taking down not one, but both families was simple. Flush out the criminals, and restore peace to an area who had all but forgotten what that word meant.
